installing xampp mysql not running

Hi,

I downloaded win32-.1.4.16 installer.exe and I use Vista Home Premium. In the control panel it shows all running with the exception of MYSQL. I click
start and I get a message MYSQL not started. I tried a few times, I uninstalled and then installed again and the same thing happenned. I am trying to set up Zen Cart and am following directions in their book. It also says Filezilla should not be running. I click to stop and the message says it stopped, yet the field nest to filezilla says running. What can I do?
