Can xampp effect my bit torrent clients?

I ask this because after installing xampp i couldnt download from isohunt or the pirate bay...im wondering if it has anything to do with my port 80 being in use an me not being able to start anything as a service...has anyone any ideas? im using xp

p.s

if i try an access any .html or .php files in my htdocs folder by typeing http://localhost/htdocs/myfile.html or
http://localhost/htdocs/myfile.php

I get

Object not found!
