tray icon won't go away

I've noticed that once I have started the XAMPP Control Panel,
an icon for it goes in the system tray.

If I minimize the XAMPP Control Panel,
a tab is created on my taskbar,
and the icon in the system tray remains.

If I *close* the XAMPP Control Panel,
no tab is created,
but the icon in the system tray remains.

Once I've done playing around, I use it to stop
Mercury, MySql, and Apache (in that order).
Then I close the window.
It remains in the system tray.
It completely ignores right-click;
left-click just brings the window back up on the screen.

How can I get rid of it?

I mean, maybe it's not using up any significant resources,
and I don't need to -- I'm just a tidy sort of person.

Try the "Exit" button on the XAMPP Control Panel Application window. The top right X to close only minimises the application.

Also check that the Svc (ie service) tick boxe(s) are not ticked.

Um. Oh. Sure enough, a button that says "Exit".
I'll go back under my rock now.

It's very crowded under the rock kggmvmv. I use the click-x-doh!-click-exit method well practiced.
