Some Problems Installing XAMPP - Advice Needed

Postby garrett » 17. May 2008 01:53

Hola from California,

I am installing XAMPP so I can slice up and test some wordpress themes locally, without having to FTP all the stuff over. The steps I took to install are:

1) Download XAMPPlite and installed at C:/
2) Navigated through C:\xampplite and double clicked setup_xampp.bat
3) double clicked xampp-control.exe and start the Apache and Mysql services.

On the control panel dialog, it says:

Current Directory: C:\xampplite
Install Directory:
*** WARNING: Directory mismatch ***
Status Check OK

When I try to run Apache, nothing happens. It just says:

Busy...
Apache Started [Port 80]

Apache never says "Running" like MySQL does. Does anybody have any idea how I can fix this? Thanks so much in advance.

Indeed. I believe that Skype uses the same port, hence blocking it.

Oh, and greetings. :)
