Apache Friends Support Forum

I go to the XAMPP control panel and hit the "Start" button for both MySQL & Apache, and in the dialogue panel, it says they've both started, yet they never actually run? What do I do?

I have found this before but it has always resolved with a rboot - does this no work for you too?

also, if you are running it on windows, open windows 'task manager' and manually kill any apache.exe's running then retry

Thanks for the reply pSouper. I originally tried to reboot my computer but they still wouldn't run. I finally decided to just reinstall XAMPP, and now they're working.

I would still be interested to know what exactly caused such a problem just in case I run into it again in the future.
