PHP error

Newbie needs help

I installed Xampp in Win Vista Home Premium.

When I run index.php, I get an error:

Something is wrong with the XAMPP installation

PHP does not appear to be running.

I run index.php from the DocumenRoot as defined in httpd.conf

Index.html runs ok.
xampp port check is ok

setup_xampp.bat says : "sorry, but ............nothing to do!"

I double clicked on index.php fron windows explored.

That's not working. PHP files must be called with "http://..." in your webrowser. Thus if you follow the readme, just enter "http://localhost/" in your webbrowser.

files are located at g:\websites\index.php

G:\websites is DocumentRoot in httpd.conf)


I read some place the a path needed to be added to Windows Environment Variables

The Xampp control panel says Apache and Mysql are running.


Start bat 4 mysql says it's not running.

Start bat for Apache says it's not running.

I'm sorry, I don't know what your talking about. I'm a newbie at this.
