How to terminal into localhost

Postby elainevdw » 18. April 2008 19:48

Hi there!

I'm a big fan of the command line, but I can't figure out how to run mysql commands, etc, via a terminal application (I use Putty). When I try to SSH into localhost, it tells me "Network Error: Connection Refused." Is there a setting in XAMPP somewhere where I can allow myself to SSH in?

Thanks!

I'm a big fan of the command line,

Thus you want use the Windows command prompt (cmd.exe).

but I can't figure out how to run mysql commands

cd to the mysql\bin dir and execute the MySQL command line client (mysql.exe)

Is there a setting in XAMPP somewhere where I can allow myself to SSH in?

A ssh server is not part of the XAMPP package.
