Earlier on I had installed xampp on my D: drive from the 7zip package. I uninstalled it. I later reinstalled it from the installer package onto my C: drive.
Everything installed fine, but my phpMyAdmin says the following:

You don't have permission to access the requested directory. There is either no index document or the directory is read-protected.
If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.

in the xampp control panel apache and mysql are running, but when checking the status in the browser it says mysql is deactivated.
Any help would be appreciated.
