MySQL config file for small systems

Postby Etdashou » 01. April 2008 20:24

Hi all,

I installed xampp and it is working very well. However, looking at the configuration file (the my.cnf file in xampp/mysql/bin/ folder) I see this as the first line of comments:

# Example MySQL config file for small systems.
#
# This is for a system with little memory (<= 64M) where MySQL is only used
# from time to time and it's important that the mysqld daemon
# doesn't use much resources.

What this comments mean exactly? If a lot of people do request to mysql table (I have 3 wikis installed on the server), it will be slow?

If yes, How can i configure this file so it is good for big system?

Or what they mean by small system exactly?
I have this installed on dedicated server with 2go RAM, is there any configuration files that are better for this.

Thank you for the help
