Images corrupted by apache?

Postby blue_guy » 14. March 2008 21:50

I have searched the forums and I have a problem similar to a few different posts such as this one: http://community.apachefriends.org/f/viewtopi ... hlight=jpg

It appears that my apache is mangling/corrupting my JPGs and GIFs. I am stumped as to why, but it seems to be only with photos. (the css images for the rest of the site seem to work fine, but anything over a certain size 'breaks')

Whether I FTP, copy, or use a php upload script, larger images are mangling/corrupting after the first 10% is displayed. They aren't corrupted on the server share, just when the images are displayed over http.

The server is just XP Pro, XAMPP 1.6 (fresh install, twice)

Where in the apache config do you think this is fixable? Or do you think it's something else? Please help, deadline has already passed and this is the last thing I've gotta get done for this nonprofit website.

Cheers

this is what the image looks like (jpgs work the same as gifs but more rainbows) this is saved from the browser:
Image

this is what the image should look like
Image

(this is on a professional hosting site, but my xampp apache feeds out the second image looking like the first.) it changes how mangled it is each time i upload a different copy. but it comes through the same until the file is updated.

anyone?

my image libraries on xp perhaps? unicode or international encoding problem with xampp maybe? i plan on digging in to this only a bit, but will probably switch the server to GNU/Linux eventually.

would be nice to find a solution though!
