starting phpMyAdmin xampp 166a windows

It was my understanding that one started phpMyAdmin with http://localhost/phpMyAdmin/

I just get a 404.

I have apache and mysql running

I am using foxfire.

Can run Joomla so Xampp is working.

No. The correct URI is http://localhost/phpmyadmin/

indeed,
even on windows the aliases are case sensitive!
