everything rolling along...oh one more thing...how the heck?

Hello all,

I have spent the last two days configuring XAMPP (Apache and MySQL) and got it all up and running wonderfully (Windows XP SP2)

I can even get to my configuration pages (PMA) from anywhere I have an internet connection and it is secured. All the security is setup and all my security checks show green lights... just one more thing...
how in the heck do I start serving web pages??... I am actually laughing to myself out loud right now... If someone could get me pointed in the right direction that would be great...

One note, I have setup a domain through DynDNS and have switched my port to 81 because I have another windows server on my network that uses 80. I have setup port 81 just fine, like I said I can get to my PHPMyAdmin page from anywhere using port 81. I don't mind that people will have to put in :81 to get to the site because it will only be for certain people that I will instruct on how to do that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S.
I am still LOL!! This is nuts.

Found that one but now I have multiple sites... VirtualHost?

ok...after much investigation I figured out that I needed to point any incoming requests to port 81 to specific directory through the httpd.conf file. I did this by editing the httpd.conf file with notepad and changed the blow to point to the directory I created called "www" - See example below:
NOTE - I just did an Edit\Find in notepad and found the "DocumentRoot" heading then changed it to the "www" directory as below
#
# DocumentRoot: The directory out of which you will serve your
# documents. By default, all requests are taken from this directory, but
# symbolic links and aliases may be used to point to other locations.
#
#DocumentRoot "C:/xampp/htdocs" - This line was the original location
DocumentRoot "C:/xampp/htdocs/www"

Ok now I have no idea where to put the VirtualHost info and how it needs to be formatted. This really is fun!! Glad it is not important...yet <whew> or I would really be pulling my hair out!!

Could someone give me some insight on the apache httpd.conf file and editing it to allow VirtualHost 'ing for multiple sites on the same server?

Regards,
