HELP REQUEST: XAMPP won't start!
Posted: 31. January 2008 20:31
Hello Everyone,
I am trying to run XAMPP under WinXP Pro with SP2 and the software simply will not start. More correctly, when I click on the Apache and MySQL buttons the green 'Running' indicator comes on for about two seconds then goes off and the server is not accessible.
I've checked the logs and there are no errors being generated, I've made sure any firewalls (including the Windows one) are disabled, made sure the ports (Web, SSL, MySQL, etc) are all available and that no programs (like Skype) are using them (I did this by running xampp-portcheck. I've even tried starting XAMPP as a service just in case the problem was with the Control Panel. I've even temporarily disabled my Anti-Virus software just in case.
Nothing.
Can anyone point me in a direction that might help. Thanks in advance.
Anthony
