New to the board, and new to XAMPP, et al

Wanted to take a moment to say thanks to everyone for their efforts here. I'm new to servers, perl, php, you name it. Trying to use XAMPP to learn a few things.

I'll probably be full of questions for a bit, but just to let you know in advance, I appreciate the help.

Before asking your questions, which most likely have been asked and answered before, try doing a Search in the XAMPP for Windows Forum using the Apache Friends in English Category first - you may be surprised how much quicker this approach can be even if your search reveals many results to scan through.
