Apache crashes when passing variable back to MYSQL on .PHP

Postby MS35 » 15. November 2007 11:42

Hi hope someone can help.

I've loaded XAMPP and tested PHP running with TimeTest.PHP which works fine. O/S Win 2k Prof.

I've created a basic web site and Localhost is OK.

One web page references a field - CompanyName - on a MYSQLtable and uses the data to create a list box and the variable selected is passed [POST] back as a form variable. (All OK)

Dreamweaver then accepts this variable and tests Ok when passing this back to MYSQL to reference other related records. and the recordset php code on the second page shows the details of the related records in bindings.

But when I open the first (selection) page on localhost and submit the selected company Apache crashes and then (normally) restarts.

The error log shows:

[Wed Nov 14 19:27:22 2007] [notice] Parent: child process exited with status 3221225477 -- Restarting.
Error in my_thread_global_end(): 1 threads didn't exit
[Wed Nov 14 19:27:28 2007] [notice] Apache/2.2.6 (Win32) DAV/2 mod_ssl/2.2.6 OpenSSL/0.9.8e mod_autoindex_color PHP/5.2.4 configured -- resuming normal operations
[Wed Nov 14 19:27:28 2007] [notice] Server built: Sep 21 2007 00:29:38
[Wed Nov 14 19:27:28 2007] [notice] Parent: Created child process 2056
[Wed Nov 14 19:27:30 2007] [notice] Child 2056: Child process is running
[Wed Nov 14 19:27:30 2007] [notice] Child 2056: Acquired the start mutex.
[Wed Nov 14 19:27:30 2007] [notice] Child 2056: Starting 250 worker threads.
[Wed Nov 14 19:27:31 2007] [notice] Child 2056: Starting thread to listen on port 443.
[Wed Nov 14 19:27:31 2007] [notice] Child 2056: Starting thread to listen on port 80.

But when I've googled the replies seem to suggest answers that fix that PHP/MYSQL isn't working at all, whereas mine appears to be OK on the first page.

Thanks

Sorted - Not ideal - but good enough

Used PHP_Switch.bat, to switch back to PHP4 and now works ok.

(switch of Apache. double click file. enter 4. hit return. Restart server)
