Firefox, dial-up, Xampp, and working offline

I have a dial-up internet provider at home. I know, I know, but I don't use my home computer that often.

I have installed XAMPP on it, and it works fine, but when I try to go to a locally served page, It says that it must go "online" and pulls up the dialer dialog. It will still connect to the locally served page, but the dialer popup is still annoying. The only way I've found around it is to let it dial in, but then it ties up my phone line needlessly.

Is there a way around it?

In Firefox under the File menu there is an item called Work Offline - experiment with the selection by clicking on it, it will change from a cross to a tick and visa versa.

Also under Tools>Options>Advanced>Update tab there is a selection to change the way that Firefox looks for updates - uncheck all the boxes so it won't try and go to the Internet for an Update.

BTW this is the XAMPP forum not the Firefox support forum. ;)

Yeah, I know. But I figured more people here would've worked with firefox, than on the Mozilla forum working with XAMPP.
