Problem installing Invision Power Board

I tried the latest XAMPP, and installed invision power board just now. But after finish installing it, whenever I want to click on the default forum that it created, it will give an error "Incorrect use of one of the board files". I also cannot view any new subforum or new forum for that matter. The funny thing is, I still had the old XAMPP lite 1.4.15 and IPB worked like a charm on it, thus it's not Apache's fault (I reverted back to Apache4 but the problem is still apparent). Is this MySQL's fault as IIRC, 1.4.15 uses a different version of MySQL (4.1.13)?
