Intranet and security

Hi, greetings to all, I'm a new user.
I would like to install the XAMPP in a intranet pc, and with the No-ip service I would like that the pc was accessible from internet.

The pc will not contain only sensitive data, bacause I want to use it like a intranet for pictures repository and some more services, like the installation of Cmap Tools (http://cmap.ihmc.us/).
The OS will be Windows XP.

So i want to ask if the XAMPP is secure for this kind of use, of course with some changes (like a strong password for the root user of MySQL).
