Hello someone attacking my apache server via port 80... is there any way to stop this hacker?

I using win2k3 web edition and newest version of apache/xampp.

How are they attacking - what are they supposed to doing?

How do you know they are attacking etc. etc.

Ok i dont know how they attacking but probably over domain, when i got dedicated server and setup xampp then localhost + ip did work, after i redirect domain to IP then i cant visit any webpage... iwn LOCALHOST dont works anymore.

I called my hosting providers and they tell me that someone is attacking port 80, probably flooding/ddosing i dont know

When i try to visit page it says "connection was reset...." If i use any other port it works normal, but my problem is i cant use other port, becouse hacker every time scan them and flood again.


Is there anything that i can do?

Sorry, I still don't quite understand what you are trying very hard to say.

If I understand you correctly, you have a dedicated server supplied by a hosting company.

You installed XAMPP on this dedicated server.

What Operating System is this dedicated server using?

Does XAMPP, that is, does Apache, MySQL, PHP and Perl work without issue?

Your dedicated host tells you that you are being attacked by a DDoS.

What is your hosting provider, through the Data Center the dedicated server is located, doing about the DDoS attacks?

There is not much you can do about a DDoS attack as you don't have access at the level that can effect a DDoS attack deterrent.

This must be done at the Data Center level of access.
They have means to help in this matter and know exactly what to do.

Now if you are talking about XAMPP that is installed on your home PC then just stop Apache and look in your log files for the range of IPs that are attacking you and then ban those IPs in your PC's firewall from accessing your PC on TCP port 80

I have dedicated server for which i paying, i have it from biggest neatherland hosting company (leaseweb) and they response to my mail was:

All you can do is drop all that traffic via a software firewall.

But problem is i using windows2003 - Web edition, i dont want to fuckup something.. Anyone can advice me which firewall is best to use?
