Simple Email Help

How can I configure Xampp or PHP to send emails to people without setting myself up as a Mail Server. My Xampp installation is on an Internal server (not publically accessible), on a corporate network, with Wordpress running on it.

I would like to be able to use the automatic email functions within Wordpress to notify my users of things.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

just use the mercury smtp server.

make sure it can only send and lock down your network so it cant be used as a zombie spamming machine...
