When i click on the "start install" it goes staight to "phpBB : Critical Error
Could not connect to the database" its got a new install of the OS and ive got xampp-win32-1.6.3a-installer.exe installed ,what could it be?

are you installing phpbb?? or are you installing xampp?? im confused because the subject is xampp install but you said that you have xampp installed 
if your trying to install phpbb then your probably needing to install a database for the phpbb so it can connect to it so it can add tables to the database..
