Hi all,
I have installe a certificate as per an online document. All seemed well. My Win2K with IE6 saw it fine and installed OK. So did Firefox. Great.
Then I get a call. "I have XP with IE6. Every time I go into the site it prompts me stating that.
1. The cert is from a trusted authority
2. date is valid
BUT
3. The name on the cert is invalid or does not match the name of hte site
In httpd.conf the SERVERNAME is domain.co.uk
When viewing the cert. it says
issued to domain.co.uk
issued by domain.co.uk
In issuer the
CN=domain.co.uk
OU=domain
Can anyone point me in the right direction.

when you create the certificate you must type a "common name" and it must be the name of your web site.
i had the same problem and i have created again the cert with makecert.bat
file.
Bye

Thanks for the message.
I haven't restarted the server to test it but I had been told that when the documentation refers to domain name that I need to include the www as part of the name.
