PHP installation problem

Postby jshetty » 30. July 2007 17:40

I installed XAMPP on a windows XP SP2 32-bit machine. The control panel shows Apache and MySQL running. When I go to:

http://localhost/xampp/

and then here see status it says PHP Activated. Also the PHP info says the PHP version is PHP Version 5.2.2. But when I try to run a PHP script on windows on the command line, I get the following error:

'php' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

php files are not compiled programs - they must be run from within localhost.

Fire up your browser and type http://localhost/my_program.php and it will work for you....as long as you have mny_program.php in the htdocs directory.
