Can't access from IP

I've been using Xampp for a few days now, originally it was working fine. But after a restart of my computer, it could not find a .dll for mysql, I spent hours troubleshooting this, but could not figure it out. At the time my computer was riddled with viruses, so I reinstalled Vista and completely wiped my HDD. I installed Xampp again and downloaded the MSVCP71.dll. Everything starts up fine and I can access all my pages from localhost, but not from my ip or my dns I have set up. Please help! :?

check your windows host file

Windows 3.1/95/98/ME:
c:\windows\hosts

Windows NT/2000/XP Pro:
c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts or c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Windows XP Home:
c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Windows Vista:
C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts

Thank you so much! It's working now. However, it's extremely slow, it used to be blazing fast... what happened? :(

This is a great thread:)

I also have a “This application has failed to start because MSVCP71.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.”

I could not find the MSVCP71.dll file and I downloaded it from:
http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-f ... ml?msvcp71

In which file is it placed to solve the MSVCP71.dll problem when pressing apache_start.bat file in C:\xamp? Please email / post here.

Thank you in advance. Sincerely Con.

I placed it into the C:\xamp folder to solve the MSVCP71.dll problem when pressing apache_start.bat file Now, MySQL stops very slowly and http://localhost or http://127.0.0.1 does not open. What should I do to fix this? I have tried your Control Panel start and exit from myblogit.net, without success. It runs with AMPstart if I do not run it as an administrator with an unknown password. Please email to con.kantzos@gmail.com / post here.
Thank you in advance. Sincerely, Con
