I've been using xampp and love it. One day, it stopped working on my main computer.

When visiting my Web site, it was unresponsive. Visiting phpMyAdmin, it was giving

Error

The ip address was a different one. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling a few times. Still get the above error with different ip addresses or a strange domain with a few levels of subdomain.

What gives here?

It worked so well before and now it's useless?

I'm running out of patience with this thing.

What do do?

I've been using localhost to access xampp by the way. Can't imagine why phpMyAdmin is trying to access MySQL through some strange IP address all of the sudden.

it's simple and complicated at the same time.

somehow, someone got into your mysql install and messed up with the USERS table.

remember, mysql uses ip address (if using tcpip) to allow connections.

what the error messages are telling you that your IP address has either changed or it was deleted.

from your last message, i think your IP service provider changed your IP or canonical name scheme: host2-71-static.54-88-b.business.telecomitalia.it'
