Apache Friends Support Forum

I installed the most current xampp and phpmyadmin. I have done this many times before with no problems. On my laptop, I am unable to access anything but the DEFAULT. When I try to select MySQL, it does lot let me have access to that structure (ditto phpMyAdmin). When I try to create a new database , it only creates entries in "DEFAULT" No other database is accessible and i can't see their file.

Running on an IBM Thinkpad T42.

Any help would be appreciated.
