FREEZE!

My computer (Asus / P4 / Win XP) freezes up regularly whenever I use XAMPP.

There is a 'True Vector Internet Monitor' message (pv.exe / ZoneAlarm) & CPU jumps to 100%. Only the OFF button can solve the problem.

This ONLY happens when I'm running XAMPP!

Any ideas?

Use AMPstart to launch XAMPP. It doesn't call pv.exe

That looks really neat! Flash/CD portability & all! I'd never heard of it before. I'm off to play with it now...

Here's hoping it stays above freezing.
Cheers,

Couldn't be easier. Cheers!

I had noticed that having shut down, then opened up again, Apache was running, although I hadn't configured it to run on start up, so suspected it had never shut down even though I'd exited. Wasn't sure what PV's role was though.
