Another Vhost Question

Postby Robg » 12. April 2007 06:21

Hi all,
After spending days searching/reading theses forums i still cannot get a Virtualhost to work on the same port as the main server. I can however run them on different ports using the Vhost file.
Port 80 stoppped working on my main server(ISP? maybe).

In Apache config i have added
Listen 8000
Listen 9000
I am using a port redirect from port 80 to 8000 for the main server. Port 80 to 9000 for the second. this works fine though i would like them on the same port for future servers. I have included my Vhost config. Also what should my host file look like in my host file(system32/drivers/etc).

#
# Virtual Hosts
#
# If you want to maintain multiple domains/hostnames on your
# machine you can setup VirtualHost containers for them. Most configurations
# use only name-based virtual hosts so the server doesn't need to worry about
# IP addresses. This is indicated by the asterisks in the directives below.
#
# Please see the documentation at
# <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/vhosts/>
# for further details before you try to setup virtual hosts.
#
# You may use the command line option '-S' to verify your virtual host
# configuration.

#
# Use name-based virtual hosting.
#
##NameVirtualHost *:80

#
# VirtualHost example:
# Almost any Apache directive may go into a VirtualHost container.
# The first VirtualHost section is used for all requests that do not
# match a ServerName or ServerAlias in any <VirtualHost> block.
#
##<VirtualHost *:80>
## ServerAdmin webmaster@dummy-host.example.com
## DocumentRoot /www/docs/dummy-host.example.com
## ServerName dummy-host.example.com
## ServerAlias www.dummy-host.example.com
## ErrorLog @rel_logfiledir@/dummy-host.example.com-error_log
## CustomLog @rel_logfiledir@/dummy-host.example.com-access_log common
##</VirtualHost>

##<VirtualHost *:80>
## ServerAdmin webmaster@dummy-host2.example.com
## DocumentRoot /www/docs/dummy-host2.example.com
## ServerName dummy-host2.example.com
## ErrorLog @rel_logfiledir@/dummy-host2.example.com-error_log
## CustomLog @rel_logfiledir@/dummy-host2.example.com-access_log common
##</VirtualHost>

NameVirtualHost *:8000

<VirtualHost *:8000>
DocumentRoot D:/server/xampp/htdocs
ServerName server1:8000
ServerAlias *.http://server1.no-ip.info
ServerAdmin admin@localhost
