Using XAMPP on a live production server

I am wanting to install XAMPP for Windows on a live Windows 2003 Standard edition server and I read somewhere that it shouldn't be done.

See link:
http://textbook.textpattern.net/wiki/in ... L-PHP-Perl)_for_Windows

XAMPP is so easy to set up that I want to see if you guys/gals agree that I shouldn't do it.

Thanks,
Alan Sawyer

With a " Windows 2003 Standard edition server" you have allready a webserver. So why XAMPP?

that I shouldn't do it.

It's not secure.

BTW:
With this question, your not the right customer for a root server... ;-)

Because IIS is sluggish and I want a fast web server.
I am not doing any ASP stuff, all PHP, Perl.
But it sounds like you're saying that I shouldn't be running XAMPP on it anyway.

A good point for IIS on Windows. (Or Apache on *nix)

You can use PHP / Perl with every webserver...
