I have a win98 on my C: drive and WinXP sp2 on my F: drive. I want to use xampp(apache) on my winXP os but apache is not starting. In the past it warked fine for me with my WinXP on C: drive but now I cant get apache started... I think that apache only works if C: is your main os partition and xampp is on C:\xampp.

I don't talk about another Apache. I talk about another server (this must not be Apache).

try running the xampp-portcheck.exe (in the xampp folder) it will show you if anything eles is using port 80 etc.
