My mysql wont start up. I tried 3 different ways of starting it up. I tried the .bat file, the control panel, and the service. None of them work.

My error messages-

mysql_start.bat:
Code: Select all
Diese Eingabeforderung nicht waehrend des Running beenden
Please dont close Window while MySQL is running
MySQL is trying to start
Please wait  ...
MySQL is starting with mysql\bin\my.cnf (console)
Can't start server: Bind on TCP/IP port: No such file or directory

t: 3306 ?
061222  9:26:52 [ERROR] Aborting

061222  9:26:52 [Note] mysql\bin\mysqld: Shutdown complete

MySQL konnte nicht gestartet werden
MySQL could not be started
Press any key to continue . . .

xampp-control.exe:
Code: Select all
Busy...
ERROR: MySql service not started not started [-1]

Services:
Code: Select all
Could not start the MySql service on Local Computer.
Error 3: The system cannot find the path specified.

I then checked the path of the service, it is supposed to go here:
Code: Select all
C:\Program Files\xampp\mysql\bin\mysqld-nt.exe

I believe...

This is where the service path is pointed to:
Code: Select all
H:/xampplite/mysql/bin/mysqld-nt.exe

I also checked the "Status" at localhost, and MySql is marked as deactivated.

This is all that I know. I'm not sure what is wrong with it. How do I make it work?

Thanks!

Edit: Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention that I have also done a complete reinstall. That, of course, didn't solve my problem...

Apon further analysis, this file, "mysql\bin\my.cnf" is not there. That is the file that the "mysql_start.bat" uses to start... I will re-download the program and install that and see what happens...

OK, I downloaded the lates version and checked the MD5, everything checks out fine, well, MySQL still wont turn on!

Any ideas? I'm out of them. I still get the same messages when I try to start MySQL...

What OS?

Exit the Xampp Control Panel.

If OS=XP try this at a command promt (start>Run...>cmd.exe):
sc delete mysql
Hit Enter

Then try and start mysql again.
