OpenLdap and PHP

Postby briangcc » 14. November 2006 19:42

Setup:

Win2kPro (will eventually be migrated to 2003 server)
Xampp - installed with xampp-win32-1.5.2-installer.exe
OpenLdap - openldap-2.2.29-db-4.3.29-openssl-0.9.8a-win32_Setup.exe

PHP info:

Configure Command-- cscript /nologo configure.js "--enable-snapshot-build"

Configuration File (php.ini) Path -- C:\Program Files\xampp\apache\bin\php.ini

Goal:

Get PHP and OpenLdap to talk to each other so I can use an authentication page to hit an Active Directory domain for credential verification. Using a separate Mysql db for authentication (accounts & passwords) unfortunately isn't an option.

From what I can gather I need to recompile PHP to enable openldap support. How exactly would I do this with this current setup? What compiler and options would I need?

Thanks!

In your php.ini file I noticed an extension that's commented out:
;extension=php_ldap.dll

Did you try uncommenting this , restarting Apache and then trying to communicate with openldap?
