Hello

i wanted to test some php scripts before i use them in my web, so i downloaded xampp and unzipped to I:\xampp ... this is the place where all the folders are ... even after installation and starting all the services using xampp control panel, i could see the red screen when i pointed my browser to http://127.0.0.1/ or http://localhost. .. i had a custom index.htm file, i copied that to I:\xampp\htdocs and tht loads alright.

but i am facing the problem while trying to install scripts. like the phpbb. i want to use a seperate folder for phpbb, so i copied the phpbb folder to htdocs, so that address for phpbb folder is i:/xampp/htdocs/phpbb.

for installation, i have to go to phpbb/install/install/php. but whenver i try to load http://localhost/phpbb/install/install.php, it gives me a "server error" '500'.

so ... where should i point my browser .. so i can access to folders in htdocs ? .. like to install phpbb .. i have to point to I:/xampp/htdocs/phpbb/install/install.php , or to install wordpress, i have to point my browser to I:/xampp/htdocs/wp/wp-admin/install.php ... etc ?

all the services 'apache', mysql and filezilla are running.

another thing, i used smart-ftp to connect to 127.0.0.1 (with username and pass provided in the readme-en.txt file), then created a folder, and copied some files, all those went to d:/ (my windows installation root folder), not to I:/xampp ...

When ever you get a "server error" '500' check your Apache error log as it may tell you what is wrong.
xampp\apache\logs\error.log
