Newbie alert !!

Problems with the Windows version of XAMPP, questions, comments, and anything related.

Newbie alert !!

Dear Friends,

Altho not a 'total' newbie, I am very new at Apache (i.e., I have only used Apache at the 'locahost' level a year or so ago).

I have just downloaded Xampp for Windows, and have 'unzipped' it onto my Win98SE machine.

I am a trained database programmer (using a 'C' - derivative language (i.e., the xHarbour language)

I don't want to use PHP, MySql, etc, but only want to use my own programming language with Apache. What directories can I remove from my xampp main dir without huring the use of Apache ??

Question:
Am I wasting my time here -- or should I stumble on for a day or two.

Any comments (even nasty) are welcome. The 'nasty' ones will speed my departure :))

I guess I'll try to get Apache 'up and running' tomorrow. Any help would be appreciated.

TIA,

-Mel Smith (a Snowbird between Canada and Arizona, USA)

I don't want to use PHP, MySql, etc, but only want to use my own programming language with Apache.

Then it's better you download and use the original Apache and not XAMPP.
