Images don't occur or are half missing

I use to have a simple XITAMI webserver, but would like to do more such as MySql and easyly work with php. XAMP was very easy to use.
I have installed XAMP version xampp-win32-1.5.4-installer.exe, everything works fine..... BUT images don't show well, don't occur or shown very strange with different colors.
Is there some sort of configuration I did wrong ?
Unforatunatly I hade to change to XITAMI again..... please give some advice !!
