upgrading from 1.51 to latest

I'm wanting to upgrade my instalation to the latest but I dont want to loose my configuration files, is there a step by step guide posted somewhere for upgrading the windows version of xampp?

You will have to do a clean install of 1.5.4 as there is no upgrade from 1.5.1 to 1.5.4.
That means you will have to uninstall and remove the old 1.5.1 XAMPP directory then do a clean install of 1.5.4.
You will need to make a copy of your configuration files to a directory not in the XAMPP tree. Then you can edit your new version 1.5.4 configuration files and enter the changes you made in the 1.5.1 in the 1.5.4 files. Don't overwrite the new configuration files with the old version files just add or edit the config changes.
