url goes straight to control panel

Postby fogga » 20. September 2006 19:24

I followed a tutorial on here a while back which worked fine but I just looked at it again and done exactly what it said but my url just goes to my Xampp control panel.

The tut says to delete

"#NameVirtualHost *:80
#
# VirtualHost example:
# Almost any Apache directive may go into a VirtualHost container.
# The first VirtualHost section is used for requests without a known
# server name.
#
#<VirtualHost *:80>
# ServerAdmin webmaster@dummy-host.example.com
# DocumentRoot /www/docs/dummy-host.example.com
# ServerName dummy-host.example.com
# ErrorLog logs/dummy-host.example.com-error_log
# CustomLog logs/dummy-host.example.com-access_log common
#</VirtualHost>"

I do not have that in httpd.conf, was it abad install or something?

There are no official XAMPP tutorials in this forum.

You should go back to where ever you followed an unofficial third party tutorial, that may also be giving you incorrect and confusing information and re-read it.

I know nothing about deleting anything in any configuration file related to XAMPP.

If you are having an issue with your installation then post it here along with any error messages you received and with as much detail as possible, then a knowledgable member, who valunteer their free time, may take a look at it for you.
