hello, i have xampp control 2.3
and xampp-win32-1.5.1 (mysql 5.0.xxx);

I have a problem with mysql service, as it does not start properly.
it displays starting for 2 min, and then stops.

if i run mysql as a normal program it works (99% uptime), but i have to start it manualy each time i reboot.

i have this problem with different OS (WinXP, W2k) on 3 different PCs.
what can i do about it?

The latest version is 1.5.3a of XAMPP.
Perhaps you should install that version instead.

When you installed XAMPP 1.5.1 did you use the "setup_xampp.bat" ?

Try to uninstall the mySQL service completley.
Close everything down (even reboot).
Then reinstall the mySQL service again. Often that fixes issues.
