where to create your website

where to create my website. I mean to say is where to configure in apache2 that my site location is this , it is php website how to create the default page
how to create mulitiple websites ?
any help will be greatly appreciated. When i put my website in Xampp folder it works my php is working my apache is up and running i can see the window on typing localhost but dont know how to configure my server
please help a newbie here
