Python Installation Problem

Running latest xampp on winxp.
Installed Python add on (found it via a post on this board at: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/xamp ... e?download - interesting: even tho' the website mentions it as an 'official add-on' there's no link to it anywhere 'proper').
Installed OK, seemed to do everything, but now I can't restart apache - even with a restart.

More info: if I comment out the following line: Include conf/extra/python.conf in httpd.conf, I can start Apache, but then Python doesn't work properly...this is wierd, because the line is not an accurate path to python.conf, but when I correct the path and uncomment, boof, no Apache again!

Anyone done this succesfully?

IMHO there is no Python add on for the current XAMPP:

I lied: I'm running xampp 1.5.1...the version of the add-on I tried to install is 2.3.5. Perhaps I'd better install it manually...sigh.
