XAMPP + Interbase

I am trying to use Interbase (or firebird) with XAMPP but it is being a very hard task.
The php (4 or 5) simply don't recognize the interbase functions even I uncommenting the line extension=php_interbase.dll
I read something about LAMPP 1.1 that supports interbase functions but it is just for linux.
Someone there knows how to put interbase working with XAMPP version 1.5.1?[/i]
