I was wondering if anyone could please help me with a problem that I am having with Mercury Mail. When it is activated (I am running the latest version of XAMPP), when I visit http(s)://127.0.0.1 or http(s)://localhost I encounter a screen that reads:

Welcome to localhost

Services available on this server:
Mailing list subscription management services

When I turn off Mercury, it goes away, but I need Mercury on as well as my regular stuff working. Please explain why this is happening and how to fix it. Thank you!

I found a solution to my problem, thanks to the wonderful admin of www.xampptutorials.com . I think that other users may have my problem, so I am going to post the solution.

1. Start Mercury Mail and open the administration window.
2. Click Configuration >> Protocol Modules
3. Uncheck MercuryB HTTP web server (This is trying to replace Apache 2)
4. Save settings and restart Apache and Mercury.

Worked for me too. Mercury Mail Server on Xampp 1.6.6 had been hijacking my browser - intercepting browser attempts to reach localhost/xampp. Now it works.
