Apache SMTP server

Postby QAniket » 17. April 2006 11:45

Hi all,

I'm in the process of installing Bugzilla 2.20 on Windows 2003 Server, using Apache 2.0.55 as the web server.
(Bugzilla uses CGI/Perl as the scripting language).

I earlier had configured Bugzilla 2.18 with Apache 2.0.55 and with a little change in code was successful in starting the mailing services.

But now, I'm not able to activate the SMTP mailing services in Apache 2.0.55

I have read through the documentation in the new version of Bugzilla, and it says that Bugzilla is now pre-configured to send mail, but only the web server being used should be configured for SMTP.

Would installing XAMPP help me with the problem or do I have to do anything more in order to start the mailing?

Any kind of help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks,
ANIKET

apache is a WEB SERVER _ONLY_!!!!!!!

not an ftp server. not an email server. not a food server... ;)

XAMPP includes an ftp and email server as part of the big package:

ftp = filezilla
email = mercury
