I have looked on the forum for a solution to a problem like this, have found someone experiencing sort-of the same problem, but the solution he got did not work for me

Please can you shed some light on this?

Oh and checkport says that all the required ports are free

EDIT : I have done a little debugging and found that the error seems to be comin from httpd.conf - At Here

Code: Select all
#
# Listen: Allows you to bind Apache to specific IP addresses and/or
# ports, instead of the default. See also the <VirtualHost>
# directive.
#
# Change this to Listen on specific IP addresses as shown below to
# prevent Apache from glomming onto all bound IP addresses (0.0.0.0)
#
#Listen 12.34.56.78:80
Listen 80
