I get the error 500 as soon as I add the .htaccess file. I have mod_rewrite installed and AllowOverride is set to ALL.

The starange thing is that exactly the same .htaccess file is working under a different xampp installation - and doesn't work when I change the DocumentRoot under that installation or my second one.

Any ideas would be appretiated, thanks - kilps.

Look into the "error.log" for a detailed error message.
