I read the N00b guide and did some miner changes to fit my needs. All i want is to have a virual server not reachable to the outside world. Here is my settings in httpd.conf(actually in my oldhttpd.conf):
- Code: Select all
# Use name-based virtual hosting.
NameVirtualHost *:80
#
# VirtualHost example:
# Almost any Apache directive may go into a VirtualHost container.
# The first VirtualHost section is used for requests without a known
# server name.
#
#<VirtualHost *>
# ServerAdmin webmaster@dummy-host.example.com
# DocumentRoot /www/docs/dummy-host.example.com
# ServerName dummy-host.example.com
# ErrorLog logs/dummy-host.example.com-error_log
# CustomLog logs/dummy-host.example.com-access_log common
#</VirtualHost>
<VirtualHost *:80>
DocumentRoot C:/xampp/xampp/htdocs
ServerName localhost
</VirtualHost>
<VirtualHost *:80>
DocumentRoot C:/www/alesundportalen
ServerName alesundportalen.loc
ServerAlias www.alesundportalen.loc
</VirtualHost>
My hosts file:
- Code: Select all
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 localhost.alesundportalen.loc
I`m going to install a cms on my local to manage before i head out to the big world. When i go to "http://localhost.alesundportalen.loc/" i get the message "It Works!". But when i try "http://localhost.alesundportalen.loc/install.php" it doesn`t. Can someone see where the error is. On my local i have set up the local folder as the guide c:\www\alesundportalen and installed XAMPP in c:\xampp.
