64-bit support?

Postby bigshooter » 17. February 2006 21:19

I'm migrating all my servers to XP 64-bit since they're all 64-bit capable. Will the current version of XAMPP run on a 64-bit platform? Or has anyone had any success running it on XP-64? If so i'd appreciate any input you have regarding compatibilities/conflicts etc.

a quick side note, i did find reference to XP-64 searching the forum, but the discussions were all in German. regretably i don't speak German. Sorry if this topic is a repeater.

I've done a little testing on it on x64 OS's both Server and XP. It ran fine on both OS's but don't expect any performance increases over 32 bit. I haven't tried the new apache or mysql versions on it but since mysql 4 and apache 2.0 have no problems, it should be pretty safe. I may try it on Vista this coming week but to be honest, I'm a little more curious about IIS 7 than I am XAMPP on it.
