XAMPP 1.5.1 eats memory

Postby th1alb » 01. February 2006 14:16

Isn't anyone here facing memory problem with the 1.5.1? Memory issue usually happens when PHP script dies on fatal error. The only solution that I aware is to restart apache.

well, it is really not a solution, but my experience:

When a program run under WINDOWS system got a very low speed while it did not happen before, either the program or the OS cause the problem...

I run XAMPP both in my home and office, they don't eat up too much memory...

i.e. it may be time you need to "refresh" your OS, as it seems to me that windows files get scattered and "mess up" after using a long time....

So, backup your file, and...reinstall your OS....

:>

Hope it helps

I'm sure, it really eats memory in XP (Fresh XAMPP 1.5.1 full install). It always happen when script dies out of fatal error. I have tried it in over 20 machines here in our office. This wasn't happend before especially our previous install 1.5.0-pl1.

Also, I have noticed, in 1.5.2 beta, the problem seem to be sorted out. Thanks anyway.
