I cannot change the file permission from filezilla !! HELP!!

Hi , i want to change the file permission of one of my folders to 777 as required by my open source program , but it resets to the default value of xampp (755) every time i make a change. The setting does not change at all!!

CAN SOME ONE TEACH ME?? THANKS

Not possible on Windows (and with FileZilla).

This is only a requirement on *nix.
