mySQL won't start - [XAMPP config on a WinXP Pro SP2 system]

I have a XAMPP configuration on a WinXPProSP2 system.
I had the trio Apache, PHP and mySQL running smoothly, but since recently mySQL won't stay alive.
In my XAMPP Control screen I can start mySQL, it will indeed start up, but after some seconds it stops again.

Is there somewhere a logging file where I can see what circumstances cause mySQL to stop again? Or any other suggestion about whta I could do to keep mySQL in the air. The Apache server is doing fine, so no problem there.

The thing is: it is on my second pc that I don't use so often, so I haven't kept track what configuration changes may have occurred. I could of course remove XAMPP completely and do a re-install, but if I can avoid it, I would prefer that.

Schönen Dank

Somethings wrong in your my.ini file.. did you take a look at your error logs?

Could you tell me what the error log is called, and perhaps even where I might find it?

\xampp\apache\logs

Also you may run mysql administrator tool in xampp control panel.. I think it will fix your my.ini file..
